Технология защиты информации на жестких дисках, использующая принцип объединения в массив нескольких небольших и/или дешевых дисководов. В результате получается система, превосходящая по объему, скорости работы и надежности самые дорогие дисководы. Технология RAID разработана в 1996 году в университете Беркли.
